It's a rather expensive way of doing it, but for a monthly fee of $32/£33 a month, iPhone lovers can lease a phone and then trade it in when the newcomer arrives. Now Apple is making it even easier for those enrolled in the program by providing a mail-in option for the old device (via MacRumors Forums). Previously, upgrades were performed via an appointment at the user's local Apple Store. Related: iPhone X Given the expected cost of the iPhone 8/X — some analysts are predicting up to $1,300 for the top model — the Upgrade Program might be more tempting than ever. Apple is expected to launch a trio of nexw iPhones at its September 12 event at the new Steve Jobs Theater on its new campus. With that in mind, the new option couldn't be more timely. Apple Cares The iPhone Upgrade Program also includes access to Apple Care+ meaning any breakages are taken care of by the company.
