LG's latest flagship phone the LG V30 is likely to set back buyers £578/$749, offering a competitive price when compared to the likes of the Apple iPhone 7Plus and Samsung's Galaxy S8+.
The price appears to have been hidden in the terms and conditions of a Twitter sweepstake by LG offering three V30s up for grabs in the US; in the competition's small print an "approximate retail value" set the phablet phone at $749.
Once US state taxes and price adjustments are taken into account, that price is set to hit the $800; prices for the UK and Europe have not been revealed even accidentally, but going by usual flagship smartphone pricing trends, the V30 will likely go beyond the £700 mark in Britain and €850 in Europe.
When LG revealed the V30 at IFA 2017 it announced a bevy of specifications and features but kept the price under wraps. And the company appears to have realised its minor Twitter gaffe and has deleted the tweet and shutdown the Facebook page the tweeted competition link lead to.
If the approximate retail value is accurate, then the UK and US price of the V30 will keep it competitive with the likes of the Samsung's recently revealed Galaxy Note 8, that will packed with features and Galaxy S8 aping design, costs a wallet-emptying £869 in the UK and $900 in the US.
While we're still completing our review of the V30, we've been impressed by it so far, and if it does come in cheaper than rival flagship phablets it could be a handset worth the attention of big phone fans.
However, the next iPhone is due to be revealed September 12 and Google is expected to show off a Pixel XL 2 before the year is out, so there may be a solid selection of phablet-sized phones worth your attention this Autumn.
