The all-new Bentley Continental GT finally had its official debut at Frankfurt's world-famous IAA 2017 motor show.
In a bid for the cash in overflowing wallets of CEOs everywhere, Bentley has unveiled its new Continental GT at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The third-generation motor – which is both designed and built in the UK – replaces the second-generation version of the grand tourer, which ran from 2011 until 2018.
It's already available to order, but both pricing and an exact release date remain a mystery. Expect early models in early 2018 – if you can afford one, that is.
Commenting on the debut, Bentley Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer said: "Today is a defining moment for Bentley Motors. Today we build on our recent success story and look to the future with a new car that will set new standards in luxury grand touring. Today we introduce a car that is the ultimate in extraordinary design, technology, and innovation."
The model is based on Volkswagen's MSB platform; VW acquired Bentley back in 2003, for context. That means it shares some parts with the Porsche Panamera. The new GT features a revamped 6.0-litre engine, and can output an impressive 626bhp. That all results in a 0-60mph time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 207mph.
Inside you'll find the usual luxuries, including a 12.3-inch display that rotates out from behind the facia when the car turns on. This gives you access to a range of infotainment features and settings, all in gloriously high resolution.
